The History of Modern Marvels

Ivan Berger.

Ivan Berger has been writing about electronics since 1962, when he began a sixteen-year stretch as audio columnist for Saturday Review. He was soon writing for all the major hi-fi magazines of the day :Stereo Review, High Fidelity, and Audio). Over the years, he has written for Popular Science and Popular Mechanics, The New York Times, Video, and more than a hundred other publications. Most of his writing has been on audio, but much of it has covered other aspects of consumer technology, including photography, automobiles, video, and home computers. He was once, in fact, fired from a job because of his delusion that home computers had a future; this was the year before the Commodore Pet, Apple II, and Radio Shack TRS-80 made their appearance. Since 1982, he > has been Technical Editor of Audio magazine, and is now a columnist for Car Stereo Review and an occasional contributor to Road & Track, Home, and Wired. He is also the author of The New Sound of Stereo, now out of print.
