Maureen Ogle is currently an assistant professor of history at the University of South Alabama. She will be leaving that job at the end of the year to write a popular history of Key West, Florida. In her past lives, Maureen has worked as a carpenter, cab driver, and nanny, but never, alas, a plumber. She is the author of All the Modern Conveniences: American Household Plumbing, 1840-1890.
