Star Spangled Banner.

Hey kids! What does the Star-Spangled Banner mean to you? Not sure. Well take a look at these cool posters to see what the Star-Spangled Banner means to some of your peers.

Back in December we asked students in grades 5 - 8 to send in an original poster depicting what the Star-Spangled Banner (the flag that flew over Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 and inspired Francis Scott Key to write the words that eventually became our National Anthem) meant to them. 6,500 kids from around the country sent in posters!! You can imagine how tough it was to select just 10.

The Star-Spangled Banner means different things to different people, but all are important so take a few minutes to look through these great posters.

In recognition of their work, the 5 Grand Prize and 5 First Prize Winners listed on these pages will receive a trip to Washington, D.C. Congratulations to all participants and a special congratulations to our winners.
